Survive in a haunted maze
Haunted Warehouse is a free adventure video game that has you exploring a dark warehouse while a horrifying creature slowly stalks you. Developed by The Digital Media, this is a virtual reality game that features survival horror gameplay in the form of finding objects in order to escape.
Similar to games like Slenderman and Siren Head: Retribution, this game is pretty short as you simply have to explore and survive within a small map while an enemy spawns the more you collect items. You can play this on the Oculus Rift and the Oculus Quest headsets.
Beware of the dark
As the sequel to Haunted Mountain, Haunted Warehouse features a similar premise but now you’re surrounded by boxes, crates, and shelves rather than a creepy forest. Nevertheless, things are still dire as you have no idea how you got there and there are dead bodies littered about. You will have to power up a generator to escape and the only way to do so is by collecting four fuel barrels.
You wield only a flashlight on one hand so you can only pick up one barrel at a time. What’s challenging about this game is that the darkness is suffocating and your light isn’t big enough to show everything in front of you. You’ll be entering a dizzying maze that features some hidden noise-makers, too—and that’s bad considering that you need to stay quiet to remain unseen.
Unlike some horror games, the monster won’t actively hunt you unless you make noise so it pays to be careful as you explore. However, traversing the small map can still be difficult due to how dark everything really is. Sadly, you can’t adjust the brightness and gamma to more comfortable levels. The main menu simply displays the controls and the objective.
Needs some visual adjustments
Overall, Haunted Warehouse is a great choice if you’re looking for short VR horror games with survival aspects. You can’t configure the settings here for better visuals but it’s not short on the atmospheric creepiness and jumpscares. It features easy gameplay and a straightforward goal so all you have to do is learn how to evade the monster stalking the warehouse.
